1 Peter 5:6–7

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you.

7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Reflection

Peter places this invitation beside a call to humility. We are not asked to pretend that our worries are small or that we can control what happens next. We are invited to place them before God, whose care does not depend on our strength. The same chapter calls believers to stay alert and stand firm through suffering. Entrusting anxiety to the Father belongs with that watchful faith; it does not promise that every difficulty will disappear.

Before the day ends, name one concern plainly in prayer. It may involve someone you love, a responsibility you cannot finish tonight, or a question without an answer. Ask for help with the next faithful step, and leave room to receive care from others as well. Humility can mean admitting a limit, seeking support, or setting down work until morning. Return to these verses when the worry returns. You do not need polished words to bring an honest burden to the God who cares for you.
