Deuteronomy 8:3
3 He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Reflection
In Deuteronomy 8, Moses asks Israel to remember the wilderness before entering a land of plenty. God had fed them with manna and taught them to depend on His word. The chapter describes His training through the familiar care of a father for his son. Provision included food for hungry people and instruction for hearts prone to forget. Moses also warns that comfort and abundance can make people proud. Remembering the Giver matters when the table is full as well as when supplies are thin.
As you read, thank the Father for the ordinary ways your life is sustained: a meal, useful work, or help from another person. Then make room to listen to Scripture. Let gratitude lead to obedience in one concrete choice today, perhaps sharing what you have or speaking honestly about a need. This passage does not promise an easy life or personal wealth. It invites a humble response to God, whose gifts call us to remember Him.
