Compassion Like a Father

Reflection

Psalm 103 invites us to see the LORD's compassion through the familiar tenderness of a father toward his children. The surrounding verses remember our frailty: God knows how we are formed and remembers that we are dust. His care meets people who have limits, need mercy, and cannot hold everything together by their own strength. Reverence and tenderness belong together in this picture of fatherhood.

Let that compassion shape one ordinary act today. Listen patiently to someone who is struggling. Give your children attention before advice. Return to Scripture when your own strength feels thin. You do not have to pretend that you have no needs. Read the whole psalm and remember the mercy of the Father whose love teaches us to care for others.
