Proverbs places the LORD's discipline within a relationship of love and delight. These verses belong to instruction about trusting God, receiving wisdom, and walking in His ways. Correction can be uncomfortable because it asks us to change. The passage invites a teachable heart toward the Lord, whose care includes forming His people rather than leaving them without guidance.
