In the Potter's Hands

Reflection

Isaiah's prayer calls the LORD Father and pictures His people as clay in the hands of a potter. It comes within a plea that acknowledges sin, remembers belonging, and asks for mercy. The image reminds us that we are formed creatures, dependent on God. Turning toward Him can include admitting that our habits, motives, and choices still need His patient work.

Choose one place to become more teachable today. Listen carefully, repair a neglected responsibility, or take a quiet moment to pray before acting. Formation often becomes visible through ordinary faithfulness over time. You do not need to force every outcome into existence at once. Read the whole prayer in Isaiah 64, and bring your need for mercy and change to the Father whose hands are pictured shaping His people.
