Isaiah 49:15–16
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the son of her womb? Even if she could forget, I will not forget you!
16 Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.

Reflection
Zion’s complaint in Isaiah 49 is painfully direct: the Lord has forgotten her. God answers with the tenderness of a mother toward her nursing child, then speaks of a remembrance stronger than even that bond. He has not overlooked His afflicted people. The chapter places this assurance within His promise to restore them and bring His salvation to the nations. These words do not ask us to hide sorrow. They show God addressing it with compassion and faithful attention.
When you feel unseen, bring that feeling honestly to the Father in prayer. You need not turn it into a cheerful sentence first. Read Zion’s words and God’s reply slowly, allowing the passage to speak before rushing toward an explanation. Then remember someone who may feel overlooked: a neighbor living alone, a tired caregiver, or a friend carrying grief. Make a small, concrete gesture of attention. Listen, follow up, and offer practical help without asking them to pretend that everything is easy.
