Matthew 10:29–31

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Reflection

Jesus speaks about sparrows as He sends His disciples into a difficult mission. He has warned them about rejection, persecution, and the cost of following Him. In that setting, He tells them how closely the Father attends to their lives. Even the hairs of their heads are numbered. Their courage can rest in the Father’s knowledge and care while they face real danger. The smallest details of their lives are known to Him.

If you feel overlooked, read these words slowly. You can bring a particular fear to the Father without first proving that it is large enough to matter. Ask Him for courage to follow Jesus in the responsibility before you, whether that means speaking truthfully, keeping a promise, or offering patient care. His attention also invites us to notice people we might hurry past. Give someone time to speak today, and listen with the care you have received.
