Psalm 121:3–4
3 He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
4 Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Reflection
Psalm 121 begins with a traveler looking toward the hills and asking where help comes from. The answer is the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth. His care is pictured as the attention of a keeper who never falls asleep. Our strength and attention have limits; His watchfulness does not. The psalm gives weary people words for trusting God as they come and go.
As this day ends, name before God one concern you have been carrying. You can ask for help without pretending to have everything under control. Read the whole psalm slowly, noticing its repeated language of keeping and watching. Let that prayer accompany a small faithful step: finish a needed task, check on someone, or put down your work and rest. Entrusting yourself to the Lord can make room for care and responsibility without requiring you to keep watch over everything.
